Guest Check-In Agreements
Guest registration
Guests staying at North Fork Resort take full responsibility for any damage and/or breakages incurred during their stay. North Fork Resort takes no responsibility for any lost or stolen items from accommodation or vehicles and suggests that Guests securely lock their accommodation and/or motor vehicle when unoccupied. No refunds will be issued. Upon departure, any key deposit or other bonds paid are refunded to Guests, provided the keys and/or hired items are returned in the same condition upon check out. By signing this Guest Registration Card, I/we understand and agree to these conditions and the Rules of Stay.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A 5 MPH SPEED LIMIT. FINES WILL APPLY IF FOUND GOING OVER THE SPEED LIMIT.
This registration and these agreements apply to your stay on any lot or cottage the Resort assigns to you, including if your lot is changed during your stay.
Pool Rules
SWIMMING FACILITIES: Are not supervised by a lifeguard or other responsible person. In place of on-site supervision, this facility has established a series of safeguards to be followed by all guests. In the interest of your safety and that of your guests, we require you to follow these rules:
NEVER SWIM ALONE. A minimum of two adults 18 years of age or older, must be present whenever this swimming facility is in use, with at least one adult on the pool deck.
THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR ADEQUATE SUPERVISION. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied to the swimming pool by a parent or guardian, or similar adult responsible for their safety and behavior.
IN AN EMERGENCY, NOTIFY THE FACILITY OPERATOR AND CONTACT HELP IMMEDIATELY. A free telephone is provided at this facility. Telephone numbers for the nearest emergency medical service are posted.
ONLY USE FACILITY DURING POSTED HOURS OF OPERATION.
DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL AND SWIM.
No pets allowed in pool.
No outside food or beverage at the pool. Alcohol is allowed only if purchased from Miss May’s.
Guest Code of Conduct
Welcome to North Fork Resort. North Fork Resort is a shared community of guests, cottage owners, families, and staff. The rules below exist so that every guest can enjoy a safe, peaceful, and welcoming stay. Please review this Code with everyone in your party and keep it with you during your visit.
1. Respect for people and property
Treat people and property with respect.
Courtesy toward fellow guests, cottage owners, Resort staff, and vendors is expected at all times. Harassment, abusive or threatening language or behavior, intoxicated or disorderly conduct, and damage to Resort property are not permitted.
2. Responsibility for your party
The registered guest is responsible for the conduct of everyone associated with the reservation — including all occupants, children, visitors, invitees, and pets — and for any damage, loss, or charges they cause.
Every rule in this Code applies to each of them, and the registered guest is responsible for reviewing these rules with the entire party.
3. Quiet hours
Quiet hours are observed from 11:00 PM until 8:00 AM daily.
During quiet hours, please keep music, televisions, voices, and outdoor gatherings at a level that cannot be heard from neighboring cottages or sites.
4. Pool rules
All posted pool rules must be followed at all times. The complete list is provided under "Pool Rules" on your Check-In Registration Form.
5. Pets
All pets must be registered with the Welcome Center at check-in.
Pets must be under the owner’s control at all times and must be leashed whenever outside the cottage or RV. Pets may not be left unattended in a cottage or vehicle at any time.
The complete pet requirements are set out in our Pet Policy and in the Pet Liability Waiver, which must be signed before a pet may stay at the Resort.
6. Speed limit
A 5 mile-per-hour speed limit is in effect throughout the entire Resort — on every road, lane, and parking area, with no exceptions.
7. Supervision of children
Children under the age of twelve (12) must be supervised by an adult eighteen (18) years or older anywhere on Resort property.
Children under the age of twelve (12) may not ride bicycles, scooters, e-bikes, or any other form of transportation unless supervised by an adult eighteen (18) years or older.
8. Helmets required
Anyone riding a bicycle, scooter, or e-bike anywhere on Resort property must wear a helmet.
9. Smoking
Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside all cottages, Resort buildings, and any other enclosed Resort space.
Guests are responsible for the full cost of cleaning and restoration resulting from smoking or vaping indoors, and may be required to leave under the Enforcement section below.
10. Cottage care
Please do not hang wet clothing, bathing suits, or towels on cottage banisters, railings, or porches. A drying rack has been provided for you next to your cottage.
11. Miss May’s — outside food & beverage
No outside food or beverage may be brought into Miss May’s.
12. Parking
Every cottage lot includes two (2) parking spaces. Additional parking requires a parking pass from the Welcome Center and use of the designated overflow parking area.
Vehicles may not be parked on another cottage lot, site, or Resort lot without authorization from the Welcome Center.
Enforcement
North Fork Resort may require any guest, occupant, visitor, or invitee to leave the Resort immediately, without refund of any amount paid, for a serious violation of this Code or any other Resort policy; for unsafe or disruptive conduct; for abusive, harassing, or threatening behavior toward guests, owners, staff, or vendors; for conduct that interferes with other guests’ use and enjoyment of the Resort; or for any conduct that the Resort reasonably determines presents a risk to persons, animals, or property.
No prior warning, notice, or repeated violation is required before the Resort may act, and taking a lesser measure in one instance does not limit the Resort’s right to require immediate departure in any other.
A note from the General Manager
Thank you for helping us keep North Fork Resort a place people are glad to come back to. If you have a question or a concern during your stay, please stop by the Welcome Center or call 631.477.0022.
Warm regards, Kristin Colombo, General Manager
Version 1.1
Pet Policy & Liability Waiver
We are glad to welcome you and your pet to North Fork Resort. This waiver must be completed and signed at check-in before a pet may stay at the Resort. It applies in addition to the Guest Code of Conduct.
1. Registration, fee & rabies documentation
All pets must be registered at the Welcome Center at check-in. A cleaning fee of $50.00 per pet (excluding taxes) will be applied to your Resort account.
A current rabies vaccination certificate must be provided to the Welcome Center at check-in. If that documentation is not provided at check-in, the pet will not be permitted on Resort property.
2. Dogs in cottages, cats in your own RV
Only dogs are permitted in our cottages. Cats are welcome only if you are staying in your own RV, and the cat must stay inside the RV or on a leash.
3. Leash & control
Your pet must be under your control at all times and must be leashed whenever outside your cottage or RV — that is, anywhere on Resort property other than inside your own cottage or RV.
Only service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act are permitted in the pool area, Recreation Room, and Beachwood Club.
4. Pets may not be left unattended
Pets may not be left unattended in a cottage or vehicle at any time.
Resort staff will service your cottage only when you are present to secure or remove your pet. Staff will not enter a cottage that contains an unrestrained pet.
5. Noise & disruptive behavior
If your pet’s barking, noise, or behavior disturbs other guests, the Resort may require you to correct it immediately, may relocate you to another site, or may require the pet to be removed from the Resort.
A single incident may be sufficient. No prior warning, second complaint, or repeated violation is required before the Resort may act.
6. Aggressive or dangerous behavior
If a pet bites, attacks, threatens or lunges at any person or animal, or otherwise demonstrates dangerous or aggressive behavior, the Resort may require that the animal be removed from Resort property immediately.
Depending on the circumstances, the Resort may also require the registered guest and their party to leave the Resort immediately, without refund of any amount paid.
7. Clean-up
All pet waste must be picked up promptly and disposed of properly.
8. Responsibility, release & indemnity
You accept full responsibility for your pet and agree that the Resort is not responsible for any harm or injury to your pet during your stay.
You agree to hold the Resort harmless should your pet cause bodily injury to any person or animal, or cause property damage, loss, or other liability anywhere on Resort property, including public areas, your cottage, or your lot.
You agree to indemnify the Resort for any loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense arising from the presence or actions of your pet. If carpet, furniture, or furnishings must be cleaned or replaced, you agree to pay all resulting costs and expenses.
Enforcement
The Resort may require a pet to be removed from Resort property, and may require the registered guest and their party to leave immediately without refund of any amount paid, for any violation of this waiver, the Pet Policy, or the Guest Code of Conduct. No prior warning, notice, or repeated violation is required before the Resort may act.
